Finance Assistant - UK - North

  • Ideally based in the North West within a commutable distance from the company headquarters in St Helens

  • Part time role (3 days per week) to expand to full time as the needs of the company increase

  • £18-25k FTE Basic Salary (£11-15k at 3 days per week)

 

Finance Team

 

You will be joining a team headed by an external consultant finance director and supported by an external accountant

 

Role

To provide full accountancy and admin support to the business, customers, suppliers, the banks [as required], the Directors and the Management Team. The role will be very “hands on” and is an important recruit for the Business.

 

Initially the role is envisaged to be part time – 3 days per week anticipated – with the scope to become full time as the business scales up and delivers on its growth plans. An existing external accountant will be available to assist the successful candidate in fulfilling the role requirements, including the preparation of monthly management accounts.

Candidate requirements

  • Accounting experience essential and must have worked in a Finance role previously

  • Must have had experience of working in an SME environment and be flexible

  • Experience of working with proprietary accounting systems essential

  • Experience of Microsoft Excel & Word – essential

  • Experience of meeting demanding deadlines – essential

  • Mature, self motivated, dynamic, “hands on” and a team player, as will be involved in various company-wide projects – essential

  • Friendly, good telephone manner, professional work ethic, eager to learn and progress

  • Smart, professional appearance

  • Non smoker

  • Fluency in written & spoken English

  • A willingness to participate in Belbin Team Roles profiling
