We are pleased to announce that Inovus will be supporting the 2018 SAFE-T congress as Silver Sponsors. The event, jointly organised by the Royal Society of Medicine and World Federation of Societies of Anaesthesiologists is the first ever SAFE-T (Safe Anaesthesia For Everybody - Today) Summit and aims to advance the global patient safety agenda. Bringing together leading providers from the perioperative team the summit will highlight the importance of working together to address the healthcare challenges identified by the Lancet Commission on Global Surgery.
As you would expect from an event organised by two high profile organisations, the line-up of speakers is of the highest calibre with talks due to be delivered by Tore Laerdal, Executive Director of the Laerdal Foundation and Dr Atul Gawande, Professor of Surgery, Harvard Medical School.
With a focus on safety in the peri-operative environment, Inovus will be showcasing their range of affordable and highly realistic simulators, designed to improve access to high quality training in surgical and peri-operative practice. Taking centre stage will be the unique Cricoid Pressure Trainer, Sellick™. Sellick™ is the world’s only commercially available cricoid pressure trainer, which, since its launch in late 2017, has been revolutionising the way in which we deliver training in Cricoid pressure. The simulator offers a real to life feel of delivering cricoid pressure whilst providing real time feedback on the level of pressure delivered. Prior to its release trainee anaesthetists, ODPs, EMTs and paramedics across the globe were having to resort to the use of weighing scales and other make shift solutions to train this critical skill. The Sellick™ has already seen widespread uptake in the undergraduate setting across the UK and now is now being introduced across the postgraduate setting within NHS Trusts.
As well as Sellick™, Inovus will be showcasing the SmartMan range of CPR manikins. The SmartMan provides world leading, real time feedback on the quality of chest compressions and ventilations. The ventilations feedback function will be of particular interest at the Summit, with evidence to show that using SmartMan leads to improved skills retention and improved performance in this critical area of anaesthesia.
Not to be left out, the Pyxus range of affordable laparoscopic simulators will also be on display on the Inovus exhibition stand. The Pyxus Pro Move will be showcasing its world leading “port entry” training system. As the only simulator on the market to offer close to life port entry training under camera view the Pyxus Pro Move laparoscopic simulator is truly geared to improving safety in laparoscopic surgery.
We welcome you to come and join us at the Royal Society of Medicine on the 13th April and see how Inovus Medical are improving safety in peri operative practice through improved access to high quality, affordable simulation.
